Degree & Unemployment

Somehow I have managed to take some of my precious time out to vent out some frustration that has been building up now for almost a year. I live in a country where basic necessities are more expensive than bullets. Yup, welcome to Pakistan. Anyways, that’s an other issue I am sure I can write a blog on. Today, I am not going talk about the political situation of my country nor am I going to criticize it’s leadership. I am only pissed by the fact that I am a B.Com graduate who like many others has failed to find a job in the relevant & appropriate field.

After doing my graduation, as my results were in pending, I did.the biggest mistake of my life, look for a job in a call center. Now rumour had it that if whoever joins a call center industry, remains within it forever. Now the mythical rumours are starting to seem true. It has been almost an year for me trying to find a way out from this Job, but so far my attempts have been futile. I have done B.Com from a reputable University & now I am doing MBA, but apathy did not spare me even there. I did my B.Com in hope that some of my courses of MBA would be exempted(since B.Com is held equivalent to BBA) but alas, misery found it’s way back home to none other than me!

When I was taking admission in the University, I was informed that I would not be granted any exemption because I have done B.Com, which is of 2 years. If I had done B.Com(honours) which is of 4 years, I would.have been granted an exemption atleast about 6-8courses of MBA, now thanks to the no good polices of our Educationalists I have to put up with pathetic courses that that I have already cleared in my B.Com. Now doing my masters would take me at least 2.5 years to complete, whereas otherwise it would have only taken a year.

I honestly feel that my country is headed back to stone-age with every successive year that passes by. I sincerely thank the leadership of Pakistan & it’s illiterate voters for wasting a very important period of my professional & educational life.

‘O Lord, have mercy on me & people like me, & grant every educated soul a job in their respective field. Amen’

Justice Should be Served..

A few days ago, an incident took place  in Lahore, Pakistan; where a U.S civilian, ‘Raymond Davis’, an employee of the U.S consulate opened fire on two Pakistani Citizen & claimed to have done so in self-defence. According to his version of the  the story, Raymond was being chased by two motorcyclists who were allegedly armed & had attempted to kill him & in the process Raymond’s car had also overrun an innocent pedestrian, but according to eye witnesses, Raymond’s car sped away after shooting his assailants. It took two traffic police personnel to stop him & later on arrested Raymond.

The initial reaction of  The U.S Government was that they would fully co-operate with the Pakistani Authorities & would respect the legal criminal procedures that are necessary, but now as the story seems to be emerging, the U.S government is pressurizing the Pakistani Authorities & demanding an immediate release of  the suspect under the claim that he was a diplomat & deserves the diplomatic immunity.

I being a Pakistani Citizen personally feel that U.S should stop interfering into the matters that take place inside the Pakistani Borders. As I was following this story, a thought occurred to me that if Raymond was indeed innocent then, why did he not call the police after shooting those two criminals? Instead he decides to go on the run & gets himself arrested.

A Similar Story occurred a few years ago, a Pakistani Citizen, Dr. Afia  Siddiqui, who was a graduate from the MIT institute, considered as one of the best in the world in the field of Medicine, was accused of murdering 2 U.S soldiers & she too claimed to have done it in self-defence, but the result was that she tortured for 5Years in prison & later when her trial was conducted, she was termed guilty by the prejudiced court of America. The evidence that was found on the crime scene clearly told a different tale of the entire crime scene, but yet she was given a life term of 80 years  in Prison.

When the matter was  brought up to the Pakistani Authorities, they pleaded to the U.S Authorities for her immediate release, but all was in vain. Now my question is that why in the world should Pakistani Government listen to the U.S pleas in the matter of Raymond? Being a Diplomat grants him diplomatic immunity but no one is above the law. Henceforth I urge the Pakistani Government to conduct all the necessary proceedings & if necessary punish Raymond accordingly. The ‘Tit for Tat’ rule must be applied & ‘At least For Once Justice be should be SERVED!’

Pakistan’s Trump Card

Pakistan is a country which is full of natural & mineral resources, but I am not going to talk about exploiting these resources as Pakistan is an underdeveloped country (UDC), she lacks the resources, machinery, skills & the technical knowledge to exploit these resources. These Resources may be the Ace’s that we possess in our hand but they certainly cannot, help us to defeat problem of Terrorism. Terrorism is not just the problem of Pakistan, but rather a global issue which is currently irking the Western Powers(USA & Europe) but the problem here seems to be that Pakistan is fighting this war alone, as the lives of innocent people are being jeoperdised by the Government & the Army on the expense of friendly ties with USA & the West.

As we Know that Pakistan is not only suffering from terrorism, being an UDC; Pakistan has to face various problems like unemployment, poverty, corruption, etc. & the international community is also not playing its part well. As Pakistan has taken quite a lot of loans in the past from the World Bank, Asian Development Bank & the International Monetary Fund(IMF), these institutions are further creating hurdles for Pakistan by pressurising on the the issue of repayment of loans by increasing the interest rates. As a result inflation has risen in the country, distracting its leadership from the actual menace of terrorism.

Now lets suppose, what if Pakistan were to apply a ‘Tit for Tat’ attitude against these ‘Western Powers’. Didn’t get what I said?, alright here let me clarify a bit. If Pakistan were to raise this issue of Terrorism in UN Security Council & relate it to the monetary issues, I am sure that we can Waive off at least 40% of our foreign loans. All Pakistan has to do is to conduct a good bargain ‘Terrorists in exchange for relief in foreign loans’. Deal or no Deal its up to the USA & the West to decide that. As a matter of fact I feel that we have an upper hand in this Issue; as Pakistan is a Nuclear Power & the only Muslim country to possess such technology & I am confident the USA & the West are not too naive to attack a Nuclear Islamic Republic Backed by the so called Taliban & vast majority of Civilians who by far also hate the USA (due to its supportive policies towards Israel)

Pakistan is in a situation of Die or Die trying. If we continue to support the US & the West in the War against Terrorism, it will do no good to the country as people are already dieing under the pressure of inflation & unemployment, but if we support the Taliban directly; the UNO Sanctions will murder the country’s Economy & Population. In my opinion, a little jolt in the UN Council will do us no harm on the contrary we might win the war from both ends.
